Programs
A few simple things to start, all free. The first ones are in Salt Lake City, and we’ll add more around the state as people join.
AGI Strategy reading group
A small group working through BlueDot Impact’s AGI Strategy course: how advanced AI could develop, and what people can do to make it go well. Weekly. No background needed.
Kickoff event
A short talk on AI safety and what a Utah hub could do, then questions and time to meet each other. Salt Lake City.
Weekly co-working
One day a week to work alongside people who care about the same problems. A café or a borrowed room in Salt Lake City, to start.
Campus groups
Reading groups at the U, BYU, UVU, and Utah State. Want to start one? We’ll help with materials and connections.
Who it’s for
- Students. A reading group is how many people in AI safety got started.
- Engineers and researchers. See where technical safety work stands and meet the people doing it.
- Policy people. Utah is one of the most active states on AI policy. Think it through with others who care how AI is governed.
- Everyone else. This work needs communicators, operators, lawyers, teachers, and more.
